Malaysia Forest Fund

The Malaysia Forest Fund (MFF) was established on 30 June 2021 to implement the REDD Plus Finance Framework (RFF). It is formed on the initiative of the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources. MFF is governed by its Board of Trustees, whose members consist of well-known policy makers, industry players and non-governmental organisation (NGO).

MFF’s main role is to generate funding for the forestry sector through the transaction of carbon credits. This is aimed at enhancing conservation and sustainable management of forest activities through the reinvestment of the proceeds from carbon credits.
